Exploring Business & Marketing
As of 2017, the Strands and Standards for this class have been updated. I will update this website in accordance this summer. For an unofficial copy of the new strands and standards, click on the link below.
Standard 1: Basic Business & Economics |
I have five assignments in this section, clearly labeled by what objective they teach. I use a Prezi, but I also use Google Classroom pretty heavily. The downloads are in Word--you will have to transfer them to a Google Doc if you choose to use Google Classroom.
Standard 2: Human Resources |
Standard 3: Entrepreneurship |
I have a powerpoint introducing Entrepreneurship, and I also do a badge unit simulation.
Standard 4: Marketing |
I used a combination of Nearpod presentation and PowerPoint to the majority of the concepts, but I also did some hands-on projects. I used my Badge machine to help the kids with their simulation.

The three main parts of this section is the Pie Game, which is a game that shows the basic concepts of stock, shares, trading, etc. Then there is the Simple Stock Market Simulation, where we go a bit deeper--choosing from 8 fictional stocks and also a vocabulary section. Next, students will use Investopedia to do a real-life simulation of investing, using an Excel sheet I've created. Finally, I do a section on
