This is a fun assignment that I did the first couple of days with my Computer Tech students that I thought I'd pass along. It only works if your students all have access to Google and Google docs. If your district, like Jordan, has created Google accounts for every student, this is a great way to introduce it to them. This assignment covers several standards--they learn about email, Google docs, and collaborating on an assignment.
Before you give the assignment, you need to log in to your own Google account and create a Presentation in Google Drive. Create one slide for each student. Then share it with all the students in your class through their Google accounts. The students will then open it and begin working on it together, watching each other work on the same document. You could also do this assignment in smaller teams, so that you have several slideshows instead of one big one. The directions include how to login with Jordan District--if you are not in Jordan District you will obviously have to change this for your own school. |
