Human Resources Career Link Online - By Brian Schuster
Brian sent out some links to some activities he's created online, making the worksheets more interactive. Here is the link to the one for Human Resources.
Worksheet Update
As I've taught this each quarter, I keep sort of paring it down to save time. Below you will see the worksheet I created from the original packet, but I don't actually use it anymore. I have added the images from the applications to the HR employee PowerPoint. Now that PowerPoint has 3 sections--the Application section, the Quality Employee section, and the Interview section. For the Quality Employee section, I have updated it a bit by adding fictional characters on each personality type to make it more real for the kids. They love that. The PowerPoint has been updated substantially in July, 2017. So re-download if you already have in the past. It's much prettier now!
UPDATE: 9-27-17 - I just changed this PowerPoint a bit so that it has a better, funner, more uniform background. it's super cute! You will probably want to install the font that I used with it--I am including that in the download as well. This PowerPoint has the applications scanned in at the beginning, then the section on difficult people, and then a section on How to Nail and Interview. I finish it off with the video that is mentioned below on Day 3.

On Day 3, We talked about Interviewing. We watched a "bad interview" video (got it from TeachersPayTeachers for free--it's AWESOME.) Then I gave them a modified version of the interview questions from the packet, adding a page where they sort of "make up" where they will be in 5 years or so. This makes it easier for them for the next day when we do interviews on camera.
On Day 4, we spent about 10 minutes finishing the Interview questions, and then we went to an empty classroom I had prepared for filming "good" and "bad" interviews. It went VERY well! The kids loved it! If the student played the interviewer, they just asked the questions on their sheet. If they were the Interviewee, they were not allowed to bring their sheet up with them. We did not film all students--just those who wanted to do it. They did good and bad examples. Afterwards I used my film editing skills to edit it into one video for the class to watch.
