THESE LESSON PLANS ARE PROVIDED FREE TO UTAH TEACHERS AS A SERVICE AND BECAUSE OF MY DESIRE TO HELP OUT TEACHERS IN MY AREA. PLEASE DO NOT POST THESE LESSON PLANS OR ANY PARTS ONLINE WITHOUT A PASSWORD. BECAUSE I SELL THEM ONLINE, IT GREATLY REDUCES THEIR VALUE IF THEY ARE POSTED ELSEWHERE. PLEASE RESPECT MY PRIVACY IN THIS MATTER, OR I WILL BE FORCED TO REMOVE THE UTAH TEACHER PORTAL. THANK YOU.
How Can I Say Thank You??
If you have enjoyed my lesson plans and would like to thank me--PLEASE rate them on my Teachers Pay Teachers site! These ratings help me and my store a great deal, and also make my lessons more available to other teachers outside of the state. Thank you! |
Utah Teacher Portal
All Utah teachers are welcome to selected curriculum, free of charge. I have a store at Teachers Pay Teachers, but its important to me to offer my lessons free to the teachers in my area. If you would like to password, please email me at [email protected], and I will get the password to you as soon as possible. Please, however, be respectful of my work and do not post it online elsewhere unless it is password protected.
In the Utah Teachers area, I have included my lesson plans for Computer Technology, CTE Intro, and Keyboarding. I will be adding new things all time time, especially as I start writing new curriculum for the new Exploring Business & Marketing class. At the moment, I haven't done anything for it yet! Yikes! As you may know, I teach Word and Excel via video in Computer Technology. I have flipped my classroom--students are able to watch the videos, which show them how to do each feature, but do not take them through each assignment. They then transfer that knowledge as they work through the assignment. I have done this for five semesters now and have found it to be most beneficial. The students absolutely love it. In fact, out of the 134 that I have surveyed, only 2 said they did not like the video format. You are welcome to look at the presentation materials I used while presenting on videos at the Summer Conference in 2014. This format allows students to go back and review pieces they may have forgotten. It also frees me up so that I can wander around and help those who need it. Students have the option of going at their own pace, and this provides a much better learning environment. I have also found that their depth of knowledge in these programs is much better since I have started teaching this way. All the videos are available to you on my site here for free. However, after the new Computer Tech test came out, I re-did the lessons combining the documents like letters and memos, with the actual lessons. The ones on this site for Excel and Word are my older versions, and they are free. If you would like the NEW versions, and to have the actual video file--which you can post on a website or put in a common file in your classroom--you can purchase these at my Teachers Pay Teachers site. As for CTE Intro, although the class has been discontinued, I will keep my lesson plans for it on this site. They can still be used in other classes such as Computer Tech, Digital Literacy, and Exploring Business and Marketing. If you are teaching the latter, the Badge Unit is PERFECT for that class! I will be doing a modified, longer version of it myself later in the school year. |
Updates:3-3-17 - Updated some of the assignments in Human Resources--a new Obtaining A Job worksheet and an additional slide added to the Interview PowerPoint.
